Review of the startup matchmaking event of the Berlin universities
The Berlin economic development and technology promotion Berlin Partner, together with B!gründet, the founding network of Berlin’s universities, once again founded the Berlin Demoday on February 13, 2017 with the latest startups from Berlin’s universities and colleges. The objective is to present the startups to a broad audience of the economy and to offer a stage. Through this exchange, startups can win customers and partners, while company representatives can get to know tomorrow’s innovations today. Innovation partnerships are often a result of this format. For all those who were not able to attend in person yesterday, there is a list of all startups with links to their websites at the end of the article. Schedule of the event

• Welcome by Prof. Dr. Andreas Zaby (President of the Berlin School of Economics and Law) and Christian Rickerts (State Secretary in the Senate Administration for Economics, Energy and Enterprises)
• Keynote “Narrow Band IoT” by Dr. Michael Lemke (Huawei Senior Technology Expert)

Speed-Dating (supported by Ambivation)

During the speed dating, the participating startups had the opportunity to talk to the company representatives present in person in short 3-minute conversations. 25 startups in three subject areas used this opportunity and collected first creative ideas for cooperations – that is power networks. After the work was done, both sides reported on a good exchange at the buffet and exchanged contact data to talk about the potential of a cooperation. We at Ambi-Vation are curious to see what kind of collaborations arise from getting to know each other today.

The participants consisted of curious representatives of large companies, medium-sized companies and municipal companies. For example representatives of Berliner Wasserbetriebe, Deutsche Bahn, Berlin Volksbank, Philip Morris Manufacturing, Siemens, UseTree, Viessmann, Volkswagen and Berlin Sparkasse were present.
